MAP/DIRECTIONS/INSTRUCTIONS

PROJECT LOCATION
This year’s location is 366 Campbell Street, in the City of Rochester (14611). A project location map may be found at the bottom of this page.  Directions to the site from your home may be obtained through www.mapquest.com or www.randmcnally.com

WHAT YOU SHOULD WEAR
·    Wear hard-soled work shoes or hiking boots.  Sneakers and sandals are not permitted.
·    Wear “work clothes” and dress for the weather, expect to work outdoors.
·    A hat and sunscreen are suggested for hot weather.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING
·    Lunch, hand sanitizer or baby wipes.
·    Drinking water & portable toilet are provided.
·    Optional: Work gloves, tool apron, hammer, tape measure, pencil, level and utility knife.
·    Required - safety glasses are now required to be brought by each volunteer
·    Leave valuables at home or place in the locked trunk or your car or otherwise out of sight.
·    Avoid wearing jewelry, it can get lost.

DATES & TIMES
Volunteers are needed each Tuesday through Thursday and Saturday from 4/8/2010 through 7/17/2010 Rain or Shine.

Hours are as follows:
Tuesdays: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
All Other Days:  9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Please report to the project site 15 minutes prior to your schedule time.

TYPICAL DAILY SCHEDULE *

Parking available in the lot at the corner of Campbell and Whitney
Please sign-in and create a name badge
(Flower City Habitat carries secondary insurance coverage for construction volunteers.   However, to be covered, volunteers must sign-in each time they come!)
8:45 AM Volunteers meet Habitat Construction Supervisors at 366 Campbell Street.
Orientation, safety talk, morning prayer.
Supervisors assign work.
Proceed to assigned work site for a mini-orientation and introductions.
9:00 AM Begin work.
12:00 Noon Lunch & Rest
12:30 PM Resume work.
3:00 – 3:30 PM Clean up and secure site for the night.
3:45 – 4:00 PM Closing remarks and completion of feedback form.

There is a mid-morning and mid-afternoon break as well.

* For Tuesdays, arrive at 9:45 AM and work will commence at 10:00 AM.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR GROUPS:
·    Do not bring more than the number of volunteers you agreed to bring.
·    If you expect fewer, kindly notify the Volunteer Coordinator so that those slots can be filled.
·    Please designate one person as “Group Leader” and have them call/email the VC.

CANCELLATION POLICY
